EXP 3: Mashup

A building should appear to grow easily from its site and be shaped to harmonize with its surroundings if Nature manifests there. A good building is not one that hurts the landscape, but one which makes the landscape more beautiful than it was before the building was built. Studying the foldability of structures - how through advanced engineering structures could move and transform themselves. It involves a respect for materials - you don't twist steel into a flower and a respect for the harmonious relationship between the form/design and the function of the building. It is also an attempt to integrate the spaces into a coherent whole: a marriage between between the site and the and the structure and a union between the context and the structure. However we ought to go beyond the surface, the design element and touch upon the reality. Using Engineering to explore the structure and advances in technology and new materials comes from Computional Design, we can slowly expand the boundaries of what could be made so revolutionary possibilities can emerge for a new kind of architecture.

EXP 2: The Two Concepts

The two Architects chosen for experiment two are Santiago Calatrava and Antoni Gaudi. The Architectural concepts of 'Interplay between rhythm and structure' and 'Inspired complexity of forms derived from nature' were influenced by both Calatrava and Gaudi as they used this as a guideline to create unique forms and structures.

The theme is have chosen is sustainability and is portrayed through the form, structure, rhythm, and material of the light right stop.
